This policy explains how Off The Drink Club ("OTDC", "we", "us" or "our") collects and uses personal information when you visit www.offthedrinkclub.com, subscribe to the newsletter, or contact us by email. It reflects the services and tracking tools OTDC uses as at the date above.
The newsletter signup form asks only for your email address. OTDC currently uses single opt-in: when you submit your email address through the signup form, you are asking us to send you the Off The Drink Club newsletter. You are not legally or contractually required to provide your email address, but we cannot send you the newsletter unless you provide it.
Beehiiv, which hosts the website and newsletter, may also record information associated with the signup, including subscription status and attribution information. Beehiiv automatically captures UTM campaign information for signups made through its website forms where those parameters are present in the link.
When you use the website, technical and usage information may be generated by the website and the services we use. This can include information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, timestamps, referral source and campaign parameters.
Beehiiv provides newsletter analytics. Open tracking is currently enabled. Beehiiv measures email opens using a small invisible tracking pixel and can record link-click activity in live newsletter emails. These measurements can be imperfect because privacy tools, email clients and automated systems can affect open and click data.
If you email [email protected], reply to a newsletter, send an event tip, or otherwise contact OTDC, we receive the information you include in that message. OTDC uses Google Workspace to receive and manage email correspondence.

YOUR RIGHT TO OBJECT TO DIRECT MARKETING
You have the right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing at any time. If you object, we will stop using your personal information for that purpose, while retaining only any information that is reasonably necessary to record and respect your opt-out.
The OTDC website uses Beehiiv's cookie banner. OTDC has added Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and the Meta Pixel through Beehiiv's supported website tracking-pixel settings.
GA4 helps us understand website use, such as page views, traffic sources, general engagement and device/browser information. We use this information to understand how people find and use OTDC and to improve the website.
The Meta Pixel measures website activity for advertising measurement and audience-building on Meta services. For certain collection and transmission of event data through Meta Business Tools, Propertybrick Ltd and Meta may act as joint controllers under Meta's applicable Controller Addendum. Meta may independently control subsequent processing; Meta's privacy information explains how it uses information it receives.
Beehiiv states that, when its Cookie Banner is enabled, supported website pixels such as GA4 and Meta do not load until a visitor clicks Accept. If a visitor rejects or does not accept the banner, those supported pixels do not collect data for that session. Your choices can therefore affect which non-essential tracking technologies operate on the site.
Beehiiv currently records newsletter engagement information for OTDC. Open tracking is measured using an invisible pixel contained in the email. Live newsletter links may also be routed through tracking links so that Beehiiv can record click activity.
We use this information to understand whether the newsletter is useful and which content readers engage with. Open and click measurements are not exact and may be affected by mailbox providers, privacy protections, security tools and automated link scanning.
Tracking pixels in email can fall within the UK rules on storage and access technologies. OTDC is responsible for meeting any separate PECR requirement that applies to this tracking. This privacy notice explains the tracking transparently but does not itself constitute consent where consent is required.
Beehiiv — hosts the website and newsletter, stores subscriber records, sends newsletters and provides newsletter/website analytics. For ordinary publisher processing, Beehiiv generally acts as a processor on the publisher's behalf.
Google — provides Google Analytics 4 for website analytics and Google Workspace for OTDC email correspondence.
Meta — receives website activity through the Meta Pixel when the relevant tracking is enabled following consent. For certain event-data collection and transmission, Meta and Propertybrick Ltd may act as joint controllers; Meta may independently control subsequent processing.
Public authorities, regulators, courts or professional advisers where disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
We do not sell the OTDC subscriber list or provide subscriber email addresses to sponsors, venues or advertisers for their own marketing. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain appropriate consent before that sharing takes place.
Some of the technology providers used by OTDC are based outside the United Kingdom or may process personal information in other countries. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, relevant providers use mechanisms recognised under UK law.
Beehiiv's current Data Protection Addendum provides for the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where relevant.
Google states that it relies on mechanisms including UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses where required, including for business and measurement services.
Meta states that it uses appropriate safeguards for UK international transfers, including the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum where required.

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal, security and compliance requirements.
Subscriber information is generally retained while you remain subscribed.
If you unsubscribe, Beehiiv may retain your record as inactive rather than automatically deleting it. We may retain the minimum information needed to respect your opt-out and demonstrate compliance. You can request deletion of your subscriber data.
Email correspondence in Google Workspace is retained for as long as reasonably needed to deal with the enquiry, maintain appropriate business records, or meet legal requirements.
Website analytics data are retained according to OTDC's GA4 retention settings, which we review periodically. Meta determines retention for information it processes under its own controller responsibilities in accordance with its privacy information.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. Administrative access to OTDC systems is restricted to authorised personnel, and multi-factor authentication is enabled on key accounts. We also rely on the security measures provided by Beehiiv, Google and Meta for the services they operate.
No website, email service or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you believe personal information connected with OTDC has been misused or compromised, contact [email protected].
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis used, UK data-protection law may give you rights to:
ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
ask us to delete personal information in certain circumstances;
ask us to restrict how we use personal information in certain circumstances;
object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
receive certain personal information in a portable format where the right to data portability applies; and
withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

OTDC does not currently make solely automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Advertising and analytics providers may use automated systems under their own terms and privacy information.
OTDC is intended primarily for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly target the service at children or seek to collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to OTDC, contact [email protected] so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
OTDC may link to event organisers, venues, ticketing platforms and other third-party websites. Those websites are responsible for their own privacy practices. Their own privacy notices and terms apply when you visit them or provide information to them.
We will update this policy when OTDC's data use, technology or legal obligations materially change. The "Last updated" date at the top will show when the policy was most recently revised.
